Lock up children, Papa Mama, please release me Parents and Children Programme

Advances in technology mean today’s teens are facing issues that no previous generation has ever seen. While some issues are not exactly new, electronic media has changed or amplified some of the struggles young people face. Teenagers deal with intense concerns, between 11 and 19 years of age, on a daily basis as this is the most awkward growth stage of their lives. During this time, teens are exposed to some unwanted/ overwhelming external and internal struggles. They go through, and are expected to cope with hormonal changes, puberty, social and parental forces, work and school pressures, and so on. Many teens feel misunderstood. It is vital that their feelings and thoughts are validated and that the validation comes from their parents. Parents need to approach their children, who have been dealing with teenage growth issues, carefully and in a friendly manner to discuss the concerns.

The following are some of the main challenges that they face with.
1. Self-Esteem and Body Image.
2. Stress.
3. Bullying.
4. Depression.
5. Cyber Addiction.
6. Drinking and Smoking.
7. Underage Sex.
8. Teen Pregnancy.
9. Defiant Behaviours.
10. Peer Pressure.

There is a reason for all the above and there are also solutions for all the above. Please do attend the talk to find out how you as parents can be helping your children unlock themselves.
